Sé Porto Cathedral
The Sé Porto Cathedral or Sé do Porto is one of the most important tourist attractions. It was built in the 12h century and still has most its original features. Stands in the oldest district in the city as an architectural Romanesque landmark. However, the cathedral had many changes and many architectonical styles all over the centuries. The Gothic cloister was built in the 14th century with its ceramic tile (known as azulejos). Later in the 16th century was built the Chapel of Saint Vincent. Finally, the north facade dates the 18th century (1736), by the Italian architect Nicolau Nasoni. Inside the Sé cathedral, there is a beautiful silver altar and the magnificent cloister, remaining from its early days. Still inside, visit the Sacred Art Museum. All worth a visit. As you walk through the Largo da Sé, you’ll find the most genuine and friendly neighborhood. In addition, one of the best views of the city.
