Palmela Castle

Palmela Castle

Palmela Castel dates from the 12th century. It was built by the Moors and after donated to Ordem de Santiago. This fortified complex has also the former convent, built in 1423. Now transformed a luxury hotel. Here you can find, as well, a museum and the entire zone to explore. Inside the castle’s walls, there are two churches. One from the 17th-century and the other from 16th-century, like a set of graves. Due to its position, atop the amazing Arrábida hills, provides amazing views over both the Tejo and Sado estuaries. One of the most impressive sights in the Lisbon region. The Castle still has the medieval scenery and atmosphere of those who once defended the Portuguese coast. Erected at a uniquely strategic point, it had a great importance for the Portuguese at that time. Amiroad Luxury Transports provides you the comfort and safety that you need on your tour in Portugal.
